Things to do in LYON

Lyon offers lots of cultural places lots of tourists are interested in: "Place des Terraux" where there are lots of fountains wherever you look and its highlights are beautiful at night, the "Basilique notre-dame de Fourvière" is famous for its excellent point of view from the tower and for the several mosaics and stained glass windows in 19th-century Byzantine art. There is also the "Place Bellecour" where there is the statue of Louix XIV who is riding a horse. And eventually "St-Jean" which is not far from Fourvière. "St-Jean" is famous for its traboules in the Vieux Lyon, the old part of town. The traboules are passageways that were integrated in the construction of buildings for the silk workers. There are possibly 400 around town but most of them are locked or inaccessible for the public nowadays. the Museum of Fine arts ("Musée des beaux-arts") is THE Museum to see for fans of European art . It is the most important museum after the Louvre in France. So we can say that Lyon is a great cultural town.
