Dounia Sea of hands

SHyN # Sea of hands

The sea of hands was created in 1997.
ANTAR works for justice, rights, and reconciliation for Aboriginal people of Australia. It is the biggest art installation in Australiaand has been installed in all major cities to show their support more them 300.000 Australians have signed on plastic hands.
AUSTRALIAN ABORIGINES AND THEIR STORIES:
Australia is the largest island in the world. Aborigines were the first inhabitants of Australia. They are native of South-Eastern Asia . Aborigine means "a native of the country where he lives." There are more than 500 tribes and languages.
Aborigines are nomads who travel across the island, they are homeless, with black skin and long hair who practice hunting and fishing to feed themselves.they have been driven from their land and have no rights.
THE ABORIGINal> FLAG :
It was designed as a flag of protest, which was created in 1971 by an Aboriginal artist
The colors and shapes of the flag represent various aspects of the southern continent and Aboriginal culture. Black symbolizes the Aborigines themselves, red represents the earth and yellow symbolizes the sun, the origin of life
THE TOTEM:
Each one has an aboriginal totem tied to the birthplace or parents revealed in dreams. This totem guides them all their life
WHAT DO YOU FIND INTERESTING AMONG ABORIGINES ?
Aboriginal art is inspired by the "Time of Dreams". These dreams tell the adventures of their ancestors, heroes who created the world, animals and men.
They paint their bodies, but also on bark, on rocks, and now on canvas.
They mainly use 4 colors: ocher (yellow earth), red, black and white chalk. They use small wooden sticks or their fingers as a brush.
It is interesting that the aborigines make expensive paintings , sculptures and engravings.Every symbol such as the line or the circle refers to a precise codificationthey use many small items in their chart . The circles they represent are secret signs.Every tribe has its own secret code, like a language.
there is no signature on an Aboriginal painting because for them a painting represents the relationships within a group of aborigines. As you can see a story set on canvas belong to a tribe and not individual.
THE DIDGERIDO :
But there is also music instrument the didgerido which was created by the aborigines. They use them with songs and dances.
MEANS THAT THE "STOLEN GENERATION :
This film deals with the removal of "half-caste" children. The saddest people in this story are the mothers who because of a government order their children taken from their families and placed in schools run by religious people who want to integrate them in the white society. Their goal is to remove the Aboriginal culture so they even decide who will have children. In this film the mothers are forced to ask the chief protector in order to see their children.
My personal opinion about the film is that it is a touching story. Half-caste children are abducted from their families to be trained and isolated, but these children try to the camps. My opinion is that this film the way they wrote their treaties and the cries of all mothers who have separated from their children .How sad to think that whites and aborigines living in the same country were separated

Opinion
I thought the Sea of Hands was a big waste of time but the result is very nice. I thought that instead of the Sea of hands, the AAAR should have built villages for the Australian aboriginals.
But today I like the sea of hands because every one participates to the fight for human rights.
History
The first Sea of hands was held on October 12th 1997.
70000 coloured plastic hands were created and Six weeks later the Sea of hands returned to the Parliament House with 120000 hands. The Sea of hands was created to help the Australian aboriginals recover their land and rights.
My choice

Why this colors ?
I chose the color red because it represents blood and the suffering of the Australian Aboriginals then I chose black because it represents the wickedness of the British people.
My objective !
My objective is to convince everyone to create a hand on the site

one small step for one man, one giant leap for the Australian Aboriginal !

AND NATIVE TITLE :
AN EXAMPLE OF CONTEMPORARY
INDIGENOUS CONNECTION TO
COUNTRY IN CENTRAL QUEENSLAND
This photo was taken in Australia for the native title in 2000.
Native title is the recognition by Australian law that some Indigenous people have rights and interests to their land that come from their traditional laws and customs
The Aborigines of Australia are the first human beings known to have populated Australia. They establish with the natives of the Strait of Torres, the Indigenous population of the Australian State. Aboriginal more generally means the first inhabitants of the Australian ground.
This video shows a man speaking in the favour of reconciliation and invites everyone to apologize for the past so as to build a better future
