Île-de-Ré, Marion S.

This Island is located in the North-West of France, near the Île d'Oléron and La Rochelle.
30 km long, 5 wide at its widest point, the kingdom of bicycles ...Every year, Ré offers a mild climate and sunshine. For your pleasure, the west wind came from the ocean and the action of the Gulf Stream, inflated with hot air to continuously chase the clouds.
The current configuration of the Ile de Ré is due to the man who, by creating salt marshes, has shaped the landscape and the environment. Located primarily in the North of the Island, marshes represent 20% of the total area, or 1500 ha.
Some are active in the production of salt or use of maturing oysters, others are home to a remarkable fauna and flora: these spaces are shallow water fish tanks and eels.
Between the marshes, on islands and on steep bumps, protected species and nesting may arise with confidence in some fields, rugged Scottish sheep with black heads conscientiously maintain them grazing in the meadow grass salt .
You could explore the island by bicycle and you will enjoy flavored ice cream proposed at each corner of your way.
